Mary Halbur, Ph.D, BCBA-D

Assistant Professor, University of Nebraska Medical Center

Dr. Mary Halbur completed her post-doctoral fellowship at the iCASD at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s (UNMC) Munroe Meyer Institute under the supervision of Dr. Regina Carroll. Dr. Halbur joined the faculty at the UNMC as an Assistant Professor in 2021. The majority of her research and clinical experiences include early behavioral intervention, language acquisition, and treatment team member (i.e., teacher, caregiver) involvement in behavior analytic service delivery for children with developmental and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Halbur serves on the editorial board of the Analysis of Verbal Behavior and has been a guest reviewer for a variety of behavioral journals.

Michael Harman, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Assistant Professor, Briar Cliff University

Dr. Mike Harman joined Briar Cliff University in the fall of 2018 and is currently an Assistant Professor of Psychology. Dr. Harman is a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and is the acting Clinical Director of The Behavior Analysis Clinic at Briar Cliff University. Dr. Harman teaches courses on Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavioral Neuroscience, Research Methods and Statistics, and Introductory Psychology. Prior to joining the faculty at Briar Cliff University, he taught courses at Cardinal Stritch University and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.

 

Tom Cariveau, Ph.D., LP, BCBA-D

Associate Professor, University of North Carolina-Wilmington

Dr. Cariveau is an Associate Professor at the University of North Carolina-Wilmington. Dr. Cariveau has advanced degrees in Special Education (MS) and School Psychology (PhD) from the University of Oregon, is a board certified behavior analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D), and is a licensed psychologist in North Carolina. Dr. Cariveau completed a pre-doctoral internship in the treatment clinics (skill acquisition, feeding, and severe behavior) at the Marcus Autism Center and a Post-Doctoral Fellowship affiliated with the Marcus Autism Center and Emory University School of Medicine with funding from the Autism Science Foundation. He has conducted additional work in group contingencies, efficiency of instructional procedures, terminology associated with verbal status in autism, durability of responding in extinction, and the efficacy of clinical practices.

 

Shaji Haq, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Director, Severe Behavior Services at Easterseals Southern California

Dr. Shaji Haq is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst-Doctoral and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. He earned his doctoral degree in School Psychology at the University of Oregon where he obtained clinical experience in applied behavior analysis for individuals with autism. Dr. Haq completed a predoctoral internship at Marcus Autism Center – Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, where he completed clinical rotations in Severe Behavior, Language and Learning Center, and Pediatric Feeding Disorders Clinic. His formal training experiences culminated on a postdoctoral internship with Trumpet Behavioral Health. Since then, Dr. Haq has held professional positions as a Senior Clinician, Clinical Director, and Director of Intensive Behavior Services

 

Dr. Regina Carroll, Ph.D., BCBA-D

Director, Autism Care for Toddlers (ACT) Clinic
Associate Professor

Dr. Carroll is the director at the Autism Care for Toddlers (ACT) Clinic that provides early intensive behavioral interventions to young children diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Dr. Carroll received a Master’s degree in Behavior analysis at St. Cloud State University under the supervision of Dr. John Rapp and she received her PhD in Applied Behavior Analysis from UNMC under the supervision of Drs. Tiffany Kodak and Wayne Fisher. Dr. Carroll was previously an Assistant Professor in the Psychology Department at West Virginia University. Her research and clinical interests include skill acquisition in children with ASD and related intellectual disabilities, verbal behavior, treatment integrity, staff training, and stereotypic behavior. Dr. Carroll supervises Doctoral and Master’s level students in both clinical and research settings. Dr. Carroll has served on the editorial boards for the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, the Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and Behavior Modification. She was also the recipient of the APA (Division 25) B.F. Skinner New Applied Researcher Award.

Samantha Bergmann, Ph.D, BCBA-D

Assistant Professor, University of North Texas

Samantha Bergmann received her B.A. from University of Minnesota, her M.A. from Western Michigan University, and her Ph.D. from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee where she was mentored by Dr. Tiffany Kodak. She is an assistant professor in the Department of Behavior Analysis at the University of North Texas. Dr. Bergmann is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and has conducted research, provided supervision, and implemented applied behavior analytic interventions to address skill deficits and reduce problem behavior with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental disabilities in a public school, university-based clinic, and clients’ homes.

Her doctoral dissertation was supported by a graduate research grant from the Organization of Autism Research (OAR) and a Distinguished Dissertator Fellowship; this project examined the effects of treatment integrity errors on skill acquisition. She has presented her work at several regional and national conferences including the Association for Behavior Analysis International’s annual conference. Her work has been published in the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Journal of the Experimental Analysis of Behavior, The Analysis of Verbal Behavior, and Psychological Record.

 

Brittany A. Juban, Ph.D., LABA, BCBA-D


Clinical Director, May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities, West Springfield, Mass.


In her role as Clinical Director, Dr. Juban collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to ensure high quality implementation of evidence-based practices to the students served by the May Center School for Autism and Developmental Disabilities.

Dr. Juban has worked with individuals with autism and developmental disabilities for more than 10 years. She earned her doctorate degree in Psychology with a major in Behavior Analysis from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She is a Licensed Applied Behavior Analyst (LABA) and a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D).

Dr. Juban has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis, Behavior Modification, and Behavioral Interventions. She is an active member of the Association for Behavior Analysis International (ABAI) and the Verbal Behavior Special Interest Group, serving as the Professional Awards Coordinator; the Berkshire Association for Behavior Analysts and Therapy (BABAT); and Massachusetts Association for Behavior Analysis (MassABA).

She frequently presents talks at regional, national, and international conferences. She has focused her research on academic and behavioral interventions for children with developmental disabilities, specifically in the areas of applied verbal behavior, instructional efficiency, and staff training to support sustainable implementation of evidence-based practices. Her most recent research interests include the use of multiple schedules, functional behavioral assessment methodology, and the evaluation of treatment fidelity in school-based settings.
